Genyo Takeda, the brains behind the development for the Wii and whom also developed the iconic analogue stick for the N64, is to retire in June this year. Genyo Takeda was also the main figure to lead the Wii’s development with the console selling over 100 million units worldwide. Takeda joined Nintendo 45 years ago and was promoted to Nintendo's Integrated Research & Development in 1981. His replacement is Ko Shiota, the general manager of Nintendo's platform technology development division.
